Online Age Verification Solution

The manual solution for the age verification system contains a simple age affirmation that requires the user to simply tick the checkbox to confirm that they are older than 18. This method is just a formality and it does not serve the purpose of age verification as it can be easily tricked.

Since the digital transformation of the world, the right approach would be to adopt a technological solution for the age verification online checks. Here are some of the methods listed below that can be used to verify the age of the customers by online vendors.

Credit Card Verification

This method requires the end-user to provide the details of their credit card or debit card. Since only adults have credit or debit cards, this means that the person is not a minor if they are able to provide their credit card information. The information is also verified by the digital solution to ensure its authenticity.

Government-issued IDs

The identity verification solutions can verify the age of the individual by verifying the authenticity of their ID document. The end-user submits their ID document picture online and the AI-powered solution ensures its authenticity. Once it is established that the ID card is legit, then the age on the ID card is checked to see if the person is an adult.

Biometric Authentication

Biometric can be performed through face recognition. The end-user has to submit their photo along with a photo of the ID document and the facial recognition will identify the face against the picture on the ID document to ensure the authenticity of the ID card and the age of the person through it.
